We’re huge fans of local farmers’ markets. One of our favorites is in Madison, Wisconsin. Located approximately 45 minutes northeast of our headquarters, the Dane County Farmers’ Market is the largest producer-only farmers’ market in the United States. All items at the market are produced locally by the vendor behind the table.

Today’s recipe idea – Sunshine Burger Farmers’ Market Salad – is inspired by the colorful, seasonal produce we picked up this week – spinach, mushrooms, green beans, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers and red peppers.

You shouldn’t have any trouble finding the fresh ingredients we used at your local farmers’ market, but if you do, feel free to add your favorite veggies. We think that beets, squash and snap peas would also make delicious additions to this summery salad.

Don’t forget to pack your salad with protein by adding crumbles of Sunshine Burger. For our Farmer’s Market Salad, we recommend using our Garden Herb Burger. The burger’s shredded carrots add another speck of color to the plate and the flavor is delicious!
