Like most Americans, Carol the founder of Sunshine Burger, and her family enjoyed eating burgers. However, Carol was concerned that most burgers were not very healthy or nutritious – beef burgers were high in cholesterol and beef substitutes often used highly processed soy or gluten.
Combining her in-depth knowledge of nutrition and her passion for farm fresh organic ingredients, Carol created her own healthy, nutritious and delicious vegetarian burgers. She used organic vegetables, whole grains and ground raw sunflower seeds. Sunflower seeds were one of the best whole food sources of vitamin E. These wholesome burgers were full of protein, fiber, healthy unsaturated fats, minerals and phytonutrients.
